MonIdenum is based on a digital identity mechanism operated by the GIE Infogreffe on behalf of the National Council of Commercial Court Clerks (CNGTC). The service allows the legal representative of a company registered with the RCS to download a digital Kbis extract free of charge. The promise is clear, but the technical process is less so.
Reconciliation of RCS and the actual scope of the Kbis MonIdenum
The Kbis issued by MonIdenum is an official document, legally enforceable, identical to that obtained via the commercial court registry. The reconciliation takes place between the activated digital identity of the manager and the data recorded in the commercial and companies register.
We observe that this architecture poses a rarely addressed structural problem: the free service is strictly reserved for the identified legal representative. A non-managing partner, an authorized accountant, or an outsourced secretary cannot use MonIdenum to retrieve the document. In structures where the manager is not available to log in themselves, the traditional paid circuit remains the only option.
For the occasional needs of a manager or president who handles their formalities directly, the service fulfills its role. For an accounting firm handling several dozen files, it does not replace a paid Infogreffe access. Several feedbacks compiling the reviews on MonIdenum and Kbis extract confirm this gap between the promise of universal free access and the reality of use limited to the connected manager.
Activation of the MonIdenum digital identity: recurring blockages

The activation is the real bottleneck of the process. MonIdenum requires a scan of the national identity card via the terminal’s camera, followed by a facial biometric verification. The system must read the MRZ band of the document and compare it with the declared data.
Published feedback on Trustpilot and Services Publics+ converge on several malfunctions:
- The scan of the national identity card frequently fails, even with a recent and undamaged document. Several users report an error message “document unreadable” with no option for manual correction.
- The facial verification via video gets stuck on certain mobile browsers and does not always offer a fallback solution.
- No human support accessible in real-time: assistance requests go through a contact form, with response times deemed excessive by the majority of reviews consulted.
This activation process, modeled on digital identity standards like FranceConnect+, assumes a recent terminal, adequate lighting, and an undamaged identity card. The failure rate on the first attempt remains significant according to user feedback.
MonIdenum digital Kbis and the requirement for a Kbis less than three months old
Increasingly, public procedures no longer require the production of a paper Kbis. The principle of “tell us once” encourages administrations to directly query public databases based on the SIREN number. The National Register of Enterprises (RNE) allows in several cases to justify registration without providing a separate Kbis extract.
This evolution reduces the practical usefulness of the Kbis obtained via MonIdenum for routine administrative procedures. However, private third parties (banks, commercial landlords, marketplace platforms) continue to require a Kbis less than three months old. It is in this context that MonIdenum remains relevant: a manager can download an up-to-date Kbis without incurring any costs to respond to a specific request from a business partner.

We recommend systematically checking whether the recipient accepts an RNE proof or a SIREN verification before starting the MonIdenum process. This avoids an activation effort for a document that the requester does not actually need.
Scams involving paid Kbis and positioning of MonIdenum
Third-party sites charge for the issuance of a Kbis extract while presenting themselves as official intermediaries. These platforms purchase advertising positions on Kbis-related queries and offer a “simplified service” for several dozen euros, sometimes in the form of a recurring subscription that is difficult to cancel.
MonIdenum remains the only free channel linked to the registry for obtaining a Kbis as a manager. The technical malfunctions of the service do not detract from this exclusivity. In case of persistent blockage on MonIdenum, the fallback solution is a direct order on Infogreffe, whose unit cost remains moderate, or a withdrawal at the counter of the competent registry.
- Check that the website URL is indeed monidenum.fr before entering any credentials.
- Never share your MonIdenum credentials with a third-party service claiming to be an “official partner.”
- Prefer the site infogreffe.fr as a direct paid alternative, without intermediaries.
The real risk is not paying too much for a Kbis: it is subscribing to a hidden subscription on a site imitating the graphic codes of a public service. Any site that asks for payment for a Kbis claiming to be MonIdenum is fraudulent.
MonIdenum serves a specific role for the manager who needs a one-off Kbis and has the time to go through the activation step. For recurring or delegated use, the service does not meet the need. The technical irritants during registration remain the main obstacle, more so than the concept itself. Before committing to the process, the question to resolve is simple: is the Kbis really required, or is a SIREN proof sufficient?
